WebCamImageSave: Capture Still Images Periodically From Webcam
Ever wanted to keep an eye on valuables in your room via Webcam? WebCamImageSave is a portable application from Nirsoft, that lets you capture still images from Webcam after defined number of seconds and save them at any local or network location. The utility supports JPG, BMP and PNG image format and overlays current date and time stamp on captured images. You can choose to add custom label text to images, define label font family, and font size and style. WebCamImageSave is, by default, set to capture Webcam images after every 60 seconds in JPEG format. However, you can change the time duration or manually capture an image from within the application.
When launched for the first time, it shows the configuration console, where you need to specify output location, image capture time interval, JPEG quality (0-100), date and time label position, text color and shade color, and custom label text. If Custom Label text option is enabled, you can specify the font size, style and size for the custom text.
Clicking OK will open the main interface. From File menu, you can manually capture Webcam image and select Webcam device to connect with. The Edit menu has only one option to copy captured image to clipboard.
Under View, you have Preview Mode and Scaling enabled; disabling these options will stop the webcam preview and remove scaling to view actual Webcam focus, respectively. The Options lets you view and tweak with video specific options, such as, video display, video format, and video source, and re-configure the Capture Options.
The Put Icon On Tray option allows you to minimize the application to system tray, from where you can capture image manually, bring up main interface and quit the application.
It must be noted that application may not work work if more than one Webcams are plugged to your computer. Like other Nirsoft applications, it works on all versions of Windows. Both 32-bit and 64-bit OS editions are supported.
