System Stability Tester: Stress Test Your Computer With Multi-Threaded Pi Calculations
System Stability Tester is a a cross-platform system stress testing application for determining the true potential of your computer’s stability. During the testing process, the tool creates two or more threads. Once the calculation step is complete, the result of all the threads are compared, which enables analyzing the differences between them. You can select Pi digits to calculate the number of threads to use to suit your testing needs. It must be noted, however, that selecting higher values takes longer for the test to complete.
System Stability Tester displays CPU, RAM and operating system type (32-bit or 64-bit) on the right side, and enables selecting an Algorithm (Borwein or Gauss-Leg). You can select the turns (from 128Kilobytes to 128 MB) and threads. After selecting your defined parameters, click Run to begin the testing process. You can optionally enable the log and Pi file for detailed (log) analysis. The calculated data is presented on the main interface during and after the completion of the testing process. In case you would like to find out details regarding your processor type and the GHz of your processor, then refer to the processor details highlighted in yellow, below the Pi digit options.
System Stability Tester is available for a number of platforms, including Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. You can obtain the 32-bit or 64-bit EXE file for Windows, the 1386 binaries for Mac OS X, source file for Linux and 1386 and x86_64 bit file for Sun OS (binaries), from the developer’s website.
