Moodagent Auto-Organizes Your Music Collection By Different Moods
iTunes is arguably cited as one of the most popular music player among audiophiles. It’s feature-rich and stylish, and the integrated idevices support makes it a lot more appealing among Apple fans. Among its plethora of features, one functionality has created a lot of fuss. Perhaps you have guessed it by now, i am talking about Genius. Although a bit flawed, it is feature that introduced automatic playlist creation based on moods and genres from existing library. It creates playlists of complementary songs that will sound good together. Its popularity has lead other developers to come up with their own colones, though not as robust as iTunes Genius. Today, we found another application that performs the same job for Windows, Android and iOS. The application is labelled as Moodagent, and as the name implies, is a music profiling agent that sorts your music library according to different moods. The desktop application of moodagent automatically analyzes the specific moods of each track in your music library, and creates a profile of tracks with similar musical characteristics. You can then sync the profile with your moodagent Android or iOS app, and the tracks will be added to their respective profiles. Read on to find out if it fares well with iTunes Genius or not.
Moodagent Profiler comprises of a handsome UI. To start, first choose the music library that contains the music that you have on your mobile device by clicking Add music files button.
Once the files are added to the application, click Start Profiling button to start the identification process. The Status panel will show you the status of files including Profiled, Unprofiled and Errors. Click Open Detailed View button at the right side to get a detailed view off all the music files.
Now, up to its Android app which also looks and feels great. Open the Moodagent Android app (it should be noted that there’s an iOS version as well), select the Settings menu and tap Sync music library available at the top to sync music profiles created on your computer with your Android device. The mood profiles include Sensual, Tender, Happy, Angry and Tempo.
Moodagent is excellent application, with eye candy mobile apps and does the job what it is supposed to do. It works on Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7. Both 32-bit and 64-bit OS editions are supported. Testing was carried out on Windows 7 and Android.
