HTMtied – Create HTML File Shortcuts For Website To Run Anywhere
HTMtied is a portable application which converts any URL from the clipboard to an HTML file which acts as the URL’s shortcut. This method is quite similar to bookmarking websites, however, in this case they are saved as a shortcut on required local location instead of browser’s bookmarks archive. HTMtied can be used to create website shortcuts for opening them in the default browsers of numerous OS platforms and portable devices, including Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, iOS, etc by simply opening a small HTML file. It must be noted that HTML files can be easily created in most browsers such as Firefox and Internet Explorer via right-click context menu. However, what makes HTMtied useful is that unlike the files created by browsers, HTMtied creates files supported by a number of platforms.HTMtied itself is a Windows application, however, the html file can be used on any platform. Just copy URL to clipboard and run HTMtied to create the website shortcut.
This will convert the URL into HTML file and then copy it to clipboard. Now just paste the file to save the shortcut. The next time you run this file, you will be taken to the respective website via your default browser.
HTMtied works on Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7.
This is a neat little tool. It saves me time when I’m putting together tutorials or organizing different pages to have bookmarks like this on hand. I typically put a few bookmarks into the same category and group them together. Great job!
