Can you buy event skins in Apex Legends?
Apex Legends has regular events all through the year. Often they are themed but they all bring new items to unlock. The items are generally unlocked when a player completes challenges in an event. The event, and the challenges are mostly time-bound which means you have a limited amount of time to complete them and unlock the items in an event.
Event skins in Apex Legends
Apex Legends is free to play but that doesn’t mean the game as no in-game store or currency. On the contrary, Apex Legends has both in-game currency called ‘Apex Coins’ and these coins cannot be earned through any in-game activity i.e. completing events or gaining an achievement. They have to be bought with real cash.
Buy event skins in Apex Legends
Event skins in Apex Legends can be bought with money. They may not be available to purchase right-away after an event completes but they will eventually arrive in the market and you can buy them.
Prices for skins tend to differ based on the skin type but they generally cost 1800 Apex Coins. Some may cost more, and others may cost less.
Apex Legends has three different types of in-game currencies. Apex Coins can only be bought using real cash however, you can earn Legend Tokens and Crafting Metals. These currencies can also be used to purchase skins however, the skin will cost considerably more when using these currencies.
Apex coin bundles
Apex Coins are bought with real money and they come in the following bundles.
- 1,000 Apex Coins: $10
- 2,000 Apex Coins: $20
- 4,000 Apex Coins: $40
- 6,000 Apex Coins: $60
- 10,000 Apex Coins: $100
As you can see, the coins aren’t exactly cheap. In terms of USD, the largest bundles values a single coin at a penny (1 cent) while the smallest values it at a dime (10 cents). The skins start at 1800 Apex Coins so it won’t be cheap to buy, let alone buy several. It’s best to try to earn them in-game by completing challenges.
Conclusion
Skins may be discounted eventually so that they are cheaper but that is unlikely to happen with new skins or skins that are exceptionally popular. For some players, completing challenges isn’t worth the time to get a single skin they like and they end up purchasing it. For others, earning skin is half the fun. if you buy a skin and use it in the game, other players will not be able to tell how you got it. That said, your profile stats may give away which events and challenges you completed (or did not complete) and give you away.
