How to open ASPX files
ASPX files aren’t common but you will run into them if you download the source code for an app, you may find an APSX file or two in it. The file type may be uncommon for most end users but it isn’t difficult to open this type of file.
ASPX file
An ASPX file is created by a server that is running ASP.Net. This is basically a webpage but instead of using the HTML language. It is processed and translated to HTML when the file is read or loaded by a website in a modern web browser.
As far as opening an ASPX file goes, you will find it’s fairly easy to do. You do not need to set up a server, or install complicated apps to do the job.
1. Open ASPX Files – Web browser
An ASPX file is basically a document. The only reason you can’t open it is because of its extension. Unlike an HTML file that you can open with a text editor, you need a PDF viewer to open ASPX files.
- Open File Explorer.
- Go to the View tab.
- Enable the ‘Show extensions’ option.
- Navigate to the ASPX file and select it.
- Tap the F2 key.
- Change the ASPX to PDF.
- Confirm you want to change the format.
- Right-click the file and open it in a modern browser like Chrome.
2. Use web development tools
If converting an ASPX file to a PDF and opening it in a browser results in the file not displaying correctly, you can use a web development tool in its place.
