Apple Music on Windows 10

“Can I play Apple Music on PC?” is a common question amongst people who want to continue enjoying Apple’s music streaming service on a non-Apple device. The answer is, Yes. You can play Apple Music on Windows 10 or any other supported version.

While it’s difficult to escape Appleā€™s ecosystem once you’ve subscribed to their services or invested in songs from Apple Music, Apple still lets you continue using their music streaming services from devices they don’t produce.

How does this work? This guide will walk you through everything you need to get Apple Music on Windows 10.

How to Listen to Apple Music on Windows 10

There are equally good alternatives to Apple Music, such as Spotify, but there is no way all that subscription and music go to waste because you’re no longer using an Apple device. You can still listen to Apple Music with all your listening activities, followed artists, and liked songs intact.

And the good news is you can listen to Apple Music on Windows 10 in two different ways. You can go for either of the two, depending on how convenient you find it. One lets you listen to Apple Music on any supported browser (preferably a chromium one) on your PC, while the other is a desktop app that you can harness to listen to music on the go and with faster load times.

Listen to Apple Music Web on Windows 10

This method is your best bet if you don’t want your PC to get clogged from installing many apps. As suggested earlier, it allows you to listen to your favorite songs from any browser. Here’s how to go about it:

  1. Open your browser and visit Apple Music Player
  2. Locate the Sign-in button at the top right and click on it
  3. Enter your Apple ID and password, the one tied to your Apple Music subscription
  4. You’ll be taken to a two-factor authentication page. Ensure you have your Apple device on standby and enter the code sent to it on your browser

Quick Note: You can use other sign-in options if you’re not currently using an Apple device. In that case, the authentication code will be sent to the email address linked to your Apple ID.

  1. Next, a pop-up will appear on the screen, asking if you trust your current browser. Click the Trust button to proceed
  2. You should be logged in at this point. You’ll see your recent listening activities under the Library section on the left pane

Now you can enjoy listening to your favorite artists right on your browser.

Listen to Apple Music with iTunes on Windows 10

I like to think of this method as the better one, as it gives you access to more robust features outside of conventional Apple music. And the fact that it’s an app means you get faster load times and save data, since units of the interface and your listening activities are cached onto your local storage.

That said, here’s how to use iTunes for Apple Music on Windows 10:

  1. Go to Microsoft Store and search for iTunes
  2. Download and install it
  3. Launch iTunes and click Account > Sign in from the menu bar
  4. Input your Apple ID and password, then click the Sign in button under them
  5. Once you’re signed in, locate the pull-down box at the top left and select Music
  6. Locate the Browse button at the top middle and click it
  7. You may get an advert pop-up about Apple Music since it’s your first time signing into Apple Music via iTunes. Click the Already a Subscriber option
  8. Again, input the Apple ID details linked to your Apple Music subscription
  9. If you get a two-factor authentication prompt, follow it and provide the necessary verification information
  10. You’ll get a prompt on whether the software should merge your library across all devices linked to your iCloud Library. Click Merge Library to proceed
  11. Next, you’ll get a welcome message highlighting the features you have access to on Apple Music. Click Continue to proceed to your Apple music library

Pretty long steps, but don’t let them deter you. All this information is only required when you’re signing into Apple Music via iTunes for the first time. Henceforth, you’ll be taken to your Library directly when you open the app.

Can I Listen to Apple Music Offline on Windows?

Offline listening is only available on the Apple Music mobile apps on Android and iOS. You can only listen to music online via Apple Music desktop, and as for the in-house desktop iTunes, it doesn’t feature offline listening either.

However, you can use third-party Apple Music converter apps to download songs to your local drive.

How to Change Audio Quality on iTunes all Windows 10

You can change your playback quality on the iTunes app and a myriad of audio settings to ameliorate your listening sessions. To do this,

  • Select Edit on the iTunes homepage
  • Click Preferences and then Playback
  • Select Sound Enhancer

From the above settings, you can change the quality of a song during playback. You can also adjust the effect on the inbuilt Sound Equalizer. However, you can use a third-party sound equalizer to achieve better playback results.

Make the Most of Your Apple Music

Got some songs so melodic you’d like to share with friends and family? You can harness this seamless method to share playlist on Apple Music. Your recipients will be able to see your collated playlist and listen along with you.

Meanwhile, Apple Music is not the only music streaming platform out there. There are others that offer similar features, if not better ones. It’s up to you to weigh the options and choose the one that best serves you with this comparison, Apple Music Vs Google Play Music Vs Spotify.
