How to add an image watermark to the screen on Windows 10
Watermarks are a reasonably good way to protect content from being stolen. Watermarks are more often used for images/photos but they’re also used for videos. If you’re recording, and editing videos, chances are your video editor has an option for adding one. If not, or if editing one in is too time-consuming, you can add an image watermark to the screen with SceenDragon.
If you want to add a text watermark to the screen, you should use a Rainmeter skin. We have a detailed tutorial on how to add a text message to the screen with a custom Rainmeter skin. Once you’ve added the skin, you can reduce the transparency to whatever works for you.
Image watermark on screen
First, pick out the image that you want to use as the watermark on your screen. It can be either a PNG or a JPEG but if you have a logo that you want to use, a PNG is best as it preserves transparency.
Download ScreenDragon and run the app. You will see a dragon image appear on the screen. This is a placeholder image. Drag and drop the image that you want to use on to it, and it will be updated.
The image may not be the right size, or it might be too opaque or too transparent which you can adjust.
To change the size, hold down the Shift key and scroll up/down with the mouse on the image. To change the transparency, hold down the Ctrl key and scroll up/down with the mouse on the image. You can click and drag the image to position it anywhere you like on your screen.
You can use any app of your choice to record. On that note, if you happen to be using OpenBroadcasterStudio, you should know that you can add an overlay to it. It’s fairly easy to do and we have a tutorial on how to do it.
Any time you want to change the image, you can drag and drop a new one onto your old image. Each time you quit ScreenDragon, the image resets. You can also use this app to add several image watermarks to the screen if you need them. All you have to do is run the app multiple times and that’s easy to do since it supports multiple instances.
