How to set up and use the Microsoft Teams Zoom app
Microsoft does not gatekeep its services and technology. It allows other apps, device manufacturers, and services to integrate with its products and often, it will integrate with them in return.
With the rise in home-based work in 2020, Zoom and Microsoft Teams became two of the most commonly used platforms for online meetings. Both have made considerable improvements to their respective platforms but they’ve also added integration for each other.
If you use Microsoft Teams, but occasionally have to make or join Zoom meetings, you can add and use the Microsoft Teams Zoom app to do the job.
Microsoft Teams Zoom app
In order to add the Microsoft Teams Zoom app, you need the following;
- A Microsoft Teams account
- A Zoom account
- Authorization to add/install apps to your Zoom account
- Authorization to add/install apps to your Microsoft Teams team/account
Note: If you’re using a company account for either Microsoft Teams or Zoom, you may need to get in touch with the admin or owner of the account to enable the apps. The integration must be enabled both ways; Microsoft Teams must be allowed to connect with Zoom, and Zoom must be allowed to connect with Microsoft Teams.
To make it smooth, start out with Zoom instead of Microsoft Teams. It will be made all the easier if you have the Microsoft Teams desktop account installed on your system.
