Debian
Those on Debian can install Steam. First, however, it must be downloaded. To download the latest release of Steam to your computer, use the following wget download command.

To use Steam on Arch Linux, you’ll have to enable the “multilib” software repository. You can enable this software repository by opening up the /etc/pacman.conf file in a text editor (as root).
With the text file open in the editor, locate the “multilib” line, fine the symbol, and remove it. Also, remove the symbol from the lines directly below it.
After editing the text file, save your edits. Then, once the edits are saved, close the text editor and re-sync your system with the official Arch Linux servers using the command below.

Finally, install Steam on your Arch Linux computer using pacman.

Fedora/OpenSUSE
If you’re on Fedora or OpenSUSE, you’ll be able to install Steam out of the box with included software repositories. However, the native release of Steam for Fedora and OpenSUSE doesn’t work as well as Flatpak. So we suggest following the Flatpak instructions instead.
Flatpak
To use Steam on Linux as a Flatpak, you’ll have to install the Flatpak runtime. Setting up the runtime involves installing the “flatpak” app package using your package manager. If you need help setting up the runtime, follow our guide on the subject.
After setting up the Flatpak runtime on your computer, you’ll be able to install the latest release of Steam on your computer using the two commands below.
