Creating the Zorin OS 15.3 USB installer

Zorin OS is a Linux distribution. As a result, when you download it, it comes in the form of an ISO file. This ISO file needs to be flashed to a USB stick to install the operating system. In this section of the guide, we will demonstrate how to flash the Zorin OS ISO file to a USB stick for installation purposes.

The first step in creating the Zorin OS 15.3 USB installer is downloading the Etcher USB/SD Card flashing tool. It’s a straightforward program that runs on Mac, Linux, and Windows and makes it easy to create bootable USB installers.

After downloading the Etcher app to your computer, follow the step-by-step instructions down below to create the Zorin OS USB installer.

Step 1: Launch the Etcher application after installing it on your computer. Then, plug in the USB stick into the USB port.

Step 2: Find the “Flash from file” button, and click on it with the mouse. Then, use the file browser that appears to browse for the Zorin OS 15.3 ISO file, and select it to add it to Etcher.

Step 3: Find the “Select target” button, click on it, and select your USB stick in the menu. Your USB stick should be the only device that appears, as Etcher hides large data disks, so you don’t accidentally use them.

Step 4: Find the “Flash!” button, and select it with the mouse to flash your Zorin OS ISO file to the USB stick. Though, keep in mind, this process takes time and will likely take a couple of minutes to complete.

When the process is complete, reboot your PC into BIOS mode and configure it to boot from USB so that you can start the installation of Zorin OS 15.3!
