Getting Zombie Army 4: Dead War working on Linux
Zombie Army 4: Dead War is not native to Linux. Despite it not being native, it has a decent rating on ProtonDB, which means you can play it on your Linux PC with a bit of tweaking.
To start the setup process for Zombie Army 4, you’ll need to install the Linux Steam app. Then, open up a terminal window on the Linux desktop to set up Steam. You can launch a terminal by pressing Ctrl + Alt + T on the keyboard. Or by searching for “Terminal” in the app menu.
With the terminal window open and ready to use, Steam installation can begin. Follow the instructions below that correspond to the Linux OS you use on your computer.
Ubuntu
To set up Steam on Ubuntu, run the following apt install command below.
sudo apt install steam
Debian
To set up Steam on Debian, you’ll need first to download the latest Steam DEB package to your computer. You can download the Steam DEB package using the wget download command below.
wget https://steamcdn-a.akamaihd.net/client/installer/steam.deb
After downloading the Steam DEB package to your computer using the wget command, you can install the app on your system using the dpkg command below.

Arch Linux
To install Steam on Arch Linux, you’ll need to enable the “multilib” software repo. Open up the /etc/pacman.conf
file in a text editor (as root). Once open, find the “multilib” line and remove the # symbol. Also, remove the # symbol from the line below.
When you’ve finished the edits, save and close the text editor. Then, run the pacman -Syy command.
sudo pacman -Syy
Finally, set up the Steam app on your computer using the pacman -S command.
sudo pacman -S steam
Fedora/OpenSUSE
On Fedora and OpenSUSE, the Steam app is available for installation. If you use either of these OSes, you can install the app using software repos included with your OS. However, we suggest setting up Steam via Flatpak, as that version of Steam works better on these operating systems.
Flatpak
Steam works well on Flatpak, but you must set up the Flatpak runtime on your computer before installing it. Enter the two commands below to get Steam working when the runtime is up and running.
flatpak remote-add --if-not-exists flathub https://flathub.org/repo/flathub.flatpakrepo
flatpak install flathub com.valvesoftware.Steam
