Find Answers For Ubuntu Issues With AskUbuntu Unity Lens
We have reviewed both Google Books Lens and Gwibber Lens for the Ubuntu Unity launcher. This time we have the Unity Lens for AskUbuntu, which can help you quickly search and find answers to Ubuntu issues rather than having to endlessly search the internet. Ask Ubuntu is a community driven forum for the Ubuntu users. It’s members gain reputation based on the community’s response (through voting) for questions and answers.
To install the AskUbuntu Lens, enetering the following commands in the Terminal.
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:askubuntu-tools/ppa sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install unity-place-askubuntu
Once done, log out and log back in, to start using the lens. Normally the lens should also work without having to log off, however, doing so can help you apply the changes completely. The AskUbuntu lens will instantly appear on the Unity launcher and can be used to search for questions regarding Ubuntu. Typing a word or phrase will show you topics available with the keywords. Click on any of the topics to open the discussion thread in your default browser.
AskUbuntu Lens currently does not have any download files registered with Launchpad. However, you can check out the progress of this project from the Launchpad link given below.
