Easily Find Firefox Bookmarks In Ubuntu With Unity Bookmarks Lens
We have covered a number of handy Ubuntu Unity lens including, Ask Ubuntu, Google Books, Gwibber and Unity Place File Search. Recently, we came across Unity Bookmarks Lens, which simplifies the process of searching Firefox bookmarks from Unity Launcher Dash. Currently, it only supports Firefox and is compatible with the latest Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric Ocelot. With Unity Bookmarks Lens, you can easily search bookmarks and open bookmarked web links from Dash. To search the bookmark, you simply have to open the Dash and type in the bookmark title.
You can install Unity Lens from the following commands:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:nilarimogard/webupd8 sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install bookmarks-lens
After installation, enter this command in the Terminal. Once this command is entered, you should be able to view the lens. If the lens does not appear, you will have to reboot your system.

After installation, an extra option will appear with existing lens. Just click this lens and enter the bookmarked website title to locate it from Firefox bookmark list. You can view all bookmarks by clicking see more results (located below search bar).
If you would like to remove this Unity Lens, check out our guide here. Unity bookmarks Lens can also be downloaded from Launchpad. Since Unity Bookmark Lens does not have any Deb packages, the above PPA provides a more convenient way to install it.
