Unlocking iPhone 3GS Baseband 05.12.01 Work In Progress
Great news iPhone 3GS users, we have confirmation that very soon we will have a baseband 5.12.01 unlock tool that will allow iPhone 3GS users running OS 3.1.3 to get rid of their baseband lock. It seems that the release of this awesome feature is really near as per the following twitter conversation between two iDevice hacking experts, as you can see below:

We can assume that this baseband unlock will be released as soon as the new iPhone 4 is unveiled. again, if you are stuck on a locked baseband and want to abandon your iPhone, don’t do so and wait for 3 or 4 more days until the baseband unlock is released by the Dev team.
It can be really frustrating to have a device that you paid for, without the ability to use it on a carrier of your choice when need be. It makes sense for carriers to want to keep you from switching to another carrier for everyday use when you’ve bought the device from them at a cheap rate due to your contract with them, there is still justification for using the phone on other carriers elsewhere. If you are travelling in an area where your carrier doesn’t provide good coverage, or any coverage at all, you might want to swap your SIM with another pre-paid SIM. If you are roaming abroad, you might want to switch to a local carrier and save up on high roaming charges. There may be other legitimate use scenarios as well, in addition to these.
We will keep you updated on this and will give you detailed instruction on how to go about unlocking your baseband 5.12.01 as soon as it is released.

according to apple chora team, unfortunately NO UNLOCK FOR 5.12.01 WILL BE RELEASED. so please DONT buy any such apple firmware. apple is focusing to market 4G so no development for previous ones. hackers also are not interested as the platform is changing for 4G. sorry 3GS 5.12.01 baseband holder. all your money is of no use,sorry,but it is the fact.
Why such a good company like Apple is doing this nasty game? They should have informed users about such decision that could save lots of money of the users. We are frustrated with Apple.

it is ensured that at last the release is out there in market NOW!!!! look into the internet.. The development team confirmed the release. ?So dont worry 3gs users! and dont sell your iphone.
am desperate i cant use my 3g phone since a month and a half ago
i have the official 3.1.3 i jailbroke it but i couldnt unlock since i have bp 5.12 and bl 6.02
so plz any new solution come out i really need it fast
whats going to happen is geo hot and the development team are going to make sure there hack works first for basband 5.12 3.1.3 so far what we know is that they already hack it and done it but they just havent release it to the public intil ios4 comes out which comes out june 21st the good news is that geo hot and the development team have differnt hacks which is great news if one doesnt work the other one will im hoping they will release it the day ios4 come out but probably not cuz they might have to test it first before but i know that they hack the ios4 beta which is awesome news im sure that ios4 will have an unlock and jailbreak cuz they been working hard on the beta im guessing the hack will be out june 23 but just my opinion and once they release it make sure to donate for support for the future of the iphone i already have my 3gs unlock by tmobile and its jailbroken cuz i never updated so my baseband is 5.11.07 so if you have that baseband then u should have tmobile just use blackrain program by geo hot thats what i did oh some advise wait for either the development hack or geo hot hack any other hacks out there i would stay away from unless there alot of comments that say it works
where could i get the unlock the minute it get released ?
when will it be availbe ? and will it work on 3g bootlaoder 6.02 ?
