Root & Install ClockworkMod Recovery On The Galaxy Tab 10.1 LTE Tablet

The Galaxy Tab 10.1 Honeycomb tablet is truly one of the best tablets around. Earlier launched as Wi-Fi only and 3G versions, Verizon has just recently received and consequently released the LTE versions of the Galaxy Tab 10.1. While the device specs stay the same, the fact that there is an LTE radio built into it, will appeal to all speed hungry users wanting the maximum internet speed on the go. That said, for advanced users, root and recovery have been made possible thanks to @poitee.

The procedure is really a simple one, for even the most novice of Android users. However, you should know that there is a bug in the recovery, the same as found in the Wi-Fi version of the Galaxy Tab 10.1. The Volume buttons are reversed when in the recovery so you will have to make your peace with that. Otherwise, everything else should work fine.

So here’s how you can go about all of this and get root and ClockworkMod recovery running on your device in a jiffy!

Requirements:

• Fully charged Galaxy Tab 10.1.
• kernel.zip & recovery.zip.

Instructions:

1. To begin, download the zip files from the links above and copy them to the root of your SD card.
2. Boot into the stock recovery. (Power it on and once you see the Samsung logo, hold the Power button along with the Volume up key.)
3. Now simply apply the kernel.zip and then recovery.zip.
4. Once done, simply reboot the device and you’re good to go!
