Official: Samsung Galaxy S Phones Will Get Android 2.2 Froyo
Although Samsung got some spotty reputation after Samsung Behold II case, but now it is official that all Galaxy S phones will be getting upgraded to Android 2.2 Froyo. This relief oriented revelation came out of Samsung’s tweet which not only confirmed the upgrade but also mentioned Flash 10.1 support.
Here is the screen shot for your reference and you can keep it safe as a proof, in case Samsung does something like Behold II.
This means that Samsung Galaxy S, Vibrant, Fascinate, Epic 4G and Captivate will all get updated to Android 2.2. At least we can hold this confirmed for the Samsung Galaxy S users in the US.
It is still not confirmed whether Asian Samsung Galaxy S handsets will be getting the Froyo update or not. This news comes as no big surprise, as all the Samsung Galaxy S variants are powerful high-end Android devices with 1.0 GHz Hummingbird processor on board.
The release time-line and method for update hasn’t been disclosed yet, but we can assume that these updates are going to be OTA.
