Requirements:
- Rooted Samsung Infuse 4G. See our guide on rooting the Infuse 4G.
- Modified 3e recovery installed. See our guide on installing a modified 3e recovery on the Infuse 4G.
- (https://addictivetips.com/app/uploads/2011/06/recovery-clockwork-2.5.1.2-infuse.zip) Download ClockworkMod recovery or download ROM Manager from the market.
Instructions:
As said there are two ways of doing this.
Download ROM Manager from the market and select Flash ClockworkMod Recovery from the menu selecting Galaxy S I9000 when prompted.
OR
Download the ClockworkMod recovery from the link above and rename the file to update.zip. Copy it to the root of your SD card and reboot into recovery. Once in recovery select, Reinstall Packages (you may have to do this twice.).
That’s it! Once the recovery is flashed, your device will be able to make nandroid backups, flash zip files and more. For updates and queries visit the forum thread at XDA-Developers.
you need to download root explorer.
Get a modded 3e recovery.
extract it and copy recovery on your sd card via usb cable.
Now open root explorer and copy the recovery from the sd card to system/bin.
accept the overwrite option and reboot device.
now you can proceed with the Rom Manager procedure
The ROM Manager technique does not work. Judging from forums, I’m not the only one who has trouble with this. It always just reboots into 3e.
when I select “reinstall packages”, I get a error that says: “E: failed to verify whole-file signature. E: signature verification failed. Installation aborted.”… why??? :s
i ran into the same problem. my mistake was that i didnt extract the file “recovery” in the recovery.zip. THAT is what you need to copy to /system/bin.
hope this helps.
how do you get to /system/bin/ though?? i cant seem to locate it
did you get modded 3e before this?
where is the /system/bin/ i cant seem to locate it, and how do i get there in case im looking in the wrong spot??
Thx so much!
