Install Android 2.3.4 Based MIUI ROM On Sony Ericsson Xperia X10
The Xperia X10 may not be officially supported by MIUI developers, but it is supported by dedicated developers at XDA-Developers. TripNRaVeR has recently released a ROM named TripNMiUI 0.2.0 “Iris” Gingerbread, which is based on the latest MIUI 1.5.20 ROM. Long story short, MIUI is now available for you to install on your Xperia X10, so read on for more on the ROM and how to install it.
The ROM may seem like an MIUI port but in fact it has been modified quite a bit to suit the Xperia X10. Here are a few features the ROM sports as of right now:
- Based on Gingerbread 2.3.4.
- The camera app has been rebuilt and the video camera is functioning.
- The camera can set saturation, contrast, sharpness and zoom during recording.
- You have the MIUI theme engine available.
- Wi-Fi and GPS is functional.
- TripNFeature 01 tweaks & hacks included.
- Improved screen quality.
That said, other basic and necessary features such as data connection, phone and hardware sensors are working fine.
Before we move on to the installation, here are a few screenshots courtesy of the developer.

how can i install the ROM from DS card..xrecovery v0.3 gives me an error “Can’t mount SD card”
WHAT CAN I DO
I flashed this ROM on my x10 and there were a few problems… First of all the market application force-closed within 5 seconds of me opening it every time. Second, the SD card was no longer recognized by my phone, therefore I could not use the camera or any of the files that I already had on my SD card from when I had 2.1 update-1 installed. Also, I thought Gingerbread was multitouch, but that wasn’t much of an issue for me compared to the other things. Did I do something wrong when I flashed? This is what I did:
1) Rooted phone
2) Used Root Explorer to place the files from xRecovery into the bin folder (phone wouldn’t allow normal install
3) Booted into recovery mode and made a backup (which I have re-flashed for the time being)
4) Wiped all user data, data cache and delvig or w/e cache
5) Selected the zip file as the new ROM and flashed
6) Rebooted phone
Note: I saw in a different thread (possibly also in a different forum) that it could be because I wasn’t using a certain version of busybox, so I changed the busybox version and tried again, but no luck
I would really like to be able to use this ROM, but as of right now it is unusable for me
Just realized that the busybox post is right above mine… woops
hey guyzz..got the solution…use the busybox version 1.17.1 instead of 1.18.5….and procced further with the above instructions…cheerzz…\m/

My Xperia X10 doesn’t reboot after installing Android 2.3.4 Based MIUI ROM. Does anybody have any advice for me? Thanks.
Could you be more specific? It doesn’t boot at all after flashing this ROM, or you don’t have the option to reboot in the Power menu?
