Gingerbread Style T-Mobile Wi-Fi Calling App For Android 2.2 FroYo Devices
If you are using an Android 2.2 FroYo ROM with a 2.3 Gingerbread style UI along with the Wi-Fi calling app, you might have noticed that its notification icon doesn’t sit well with the Gingerbread notification bar. Now you can install a Gingerbread style version of the same app to get that icon to blend well with the rest of your ROM’s Gingerbread style interface.
As you can see in the picture, the default T-Mobile Wi-Fi calling app goes well with the stock light themed and shaded notification bar of Android 2.2 FroYo UI but on the sleek, black Gingerbread notification bar, we find this icon to be quite ugly. There seem to be others agreeing with our opinion on this and XDA-Developers forum member jayzusfk has decided to do something about it.
The developer has released a version of the Wi-Fi calling app for devices running Android 2.2 FroYo ROMs customized with a Gingerbread interface such as our previously featured Gingerbread themed ROM for the HTC myTouch 3G, or one for the Samsung Vibrant. The only difference between this app and the original one is the color of the icon, which has been tweaked to go well with the Gingerbread notification bar. All functionality remains unchanged.
Please note that this app is intended only for devices running Android 2.2 FroYo with Gingerbread themed ROMs and has not yet been tested on Gingerbread itself. Though as this is just an APK, you can safely test it yourself but make sure to backup the previous version of Wi-Fi Calling app before you do so.
To install this app, just download the APK file from the link given below, transfer it to your phone if downloaded from your computer, and run it for the installation process. To report any bugs or get help with issues, head over to the XDA-Developers forum thread and contact the developer.
