CyanogenMod 7 Android 2.3 Gingerbread On HTC EVO 4G [Download]
Although initially released as source code a few hours ago for those who want to compile it themselves, a pre-compiled version ready to flash has been made available by the developer as well. This release has proven to be quite usable, judging from the response of those who have tried it out so far.
Phone, data, Wi-Fi, GPS. main camera, Google Apps and several other features are working, although there may be delays n Wi-Fi and GPS initialization, and the camera works at 3 megapixels for now. HDMI, 4G, lock screen animation, Camcorder, MMS download and some LEDs aren’t working, plus there are some relatively small bugs that are being ironed out, along with these missing features.
Savage Kernel and ZenDroid Kernel have been confirmed to work with this release. While other kernels might work, it has not been confirmed so far and they may give issues. You can download the ROM as well as a version of Google Apps confirmed to work with it, from the links given below and flash from recovery. For those of you who don’t know how to do that, we have written a guide on how to install a custom ROM to your Android device. For updates or bug reports, refer to this XDA-Developers forum thread.
