Slack: Delete channel, edit, and archive
Channels are one of the highlights in Slack. They are ‘grouped’ discussions. Ideally, if you need to talk about something specific, you’d create a dedicated channel for it. You can change the channel name to something else or you can archive it and create a new one whenever you need to.
Editing and archiving a channel is basic and users who are able to create a channel will normally be able to edit and archive the channel they’ve created. Deleting the channel, however, may be restricted. Only admins or users with higher privileges will be able to delete a channel.
A user can only edit or archive a channel they’ve created. To edit or archive channels created by other users, higher privileges will be required.
