Alluc Not Working: 5 Best Alternatives for Alluc on Kodi
The online streaming community has received no shortage of blows in recent months, but few have had a bigger impact than the latest. Because after 13 years, the godfather of online streaming sites, Alluc has announced that it is shutting down. Alluc has been a mainstay of the online streaming community for a generation. It offered more than 80 million streaming links taken from in excess of 700 different video services. It billed itself as the internet’s premier streaming link site. And it more than lived up to that billing.
The announcement has led to shock and consternation across the internet. Little wonder, since Alluc claimed to have had no fewer than one billion unique users over the past decade. But the streaming community has suffered similar blows before, and while this one may have the biggest impact yet, it always manages to bounce back. The Alluc developers have expressed their hope that someone else will fill the gap they have left behind. And there will be no shortage of developers keen to do that. It is quite likely that Kodi will be the platform where the true successor to Alluc emerges. So, in this article, we are going to highlight just a few of the Kodi addons which could be the one to step into Alluc’s sizable shoes.
Always use a VPN when streaming content on Kodi
Alluc users were always well advised to use a VPN when streaming content. This is because Alluc did not discriminate between authorized and unauthorized content and was therefore viewed by the TV and movie industries as little more than a pirate site. Many unofficial Kodi addons are in the same boat and it is therefore highly advisable for users to take steps to protect themselves from the potential consequences of using these addons. Some Kodi users have found themselves in receipt of legal letter and even facing more severe sanctions as a result of streaming content on addons.
But with a VPN, you can mitigate some of this risk. Connecting to a VPN means that everything you do online is encrypted and your IP Address, which is used to trace your activity back to you, is hidden. This means your online activity is kept private and safe from prying eyes. A VPN is an essential online tool for all online streaming, especially on Kodi. The question is, which VPN provider should you be using?
The Best VPN for Kodi – IPVanish
IPVanish offers fast and consistent connection speeds which are ideal for streaming online content on Kodi. It combines these speeds with super-strong encryption and top-level privacy protections too. This include a no user logs guarantee which means they keep no records of what you get up to online. IPVanish also has no restrictions on bandwidth or file types. As different addons and sources use different types of files, including BitTorrent files, this is really important.
IPVanish offers its users a choice of more than 950 servers in 60 countries around the world too, which means you can unlock geo-restricted content from just about anywhere. And they also offer dedicated apps for almost every device you might want to run Kodi on and stream media content from too. This includes the Amazon Firestick. Add all this up and it is clear that IPVanish is the best VPN for Kodi users right now.
IPVanish offers a 7-day money back guarantee which means you have a week to test it risk-free. Please note that Addictive Tips readers can save a massive 60% here on the IPVanish annual plan, taking the monthly price down to only $4.87/mo.
Why has Alluc gone offline?
This is a very good question and despite an official announcement coming from the developers about the move, rather than the site just disappearing, the answer is by no means clear. In the official statement on the site, it merely states that the Alluc search engine has been discontinued. The only reason given is that the developers have decided to take a break and focus on other projects.
In an official email sent to subscribed API users on March 8th, they give little more detail. The email from the Alluc developers says:
Dear Alluc API users,
Today, the Alluc search engine will be discontinued.
If you are a subscribed API user, your API account will remain fully usable for at least 30 days after receiving this email. Any existing Paypal subscriptions have been stopped and will not continue charging you. If you used your alluc account to access the pron.tv API, you can continue doing so for at least 30 days as well. The new owners of pron.tv will keep offering their API at https://spi.pron.tv for bulk-plans and at https://accounts.pron.tv for small plans after the Alluc API stops its service.
After 13 years of Alluc, we decided to take a break and focus on other projects. Over this last decade, Alluc served more than one billion unique users in total and we would like to thank all of you for your support over the years.
When similar sites have closed down in the past it has usually been because of a decline in revenue. However, that doesn’t appear to be the case with Alluc. They claim to have had more than a billion unique users in the past decade, which is a phenomenal achievement. And with a significant number of subscribers too, a lack of revenue seems highly unlikely. One of the Alluc developers, named as Sebastian, appeared to confirm as much to the TorrentFreak website, saying
“The decision was not driven by monetary reasons… it’s time for us to move on. We hope to have contributed a lot to the video space and to have helped out a lot of people during these 13 years of running Alluc full time.”
While the developers seem unwilling to admit as much publically, it seems likely that legal pressure may have been behind the sudden move. Alluc has never distinguished between authorized and unauthorized content and has therefore drawn the ire of movie studios and TV production companies over the years. They always denied that they were a pirate site, instead claimed to be an “uncensored search engine”. To many this looked like little more than semantics and the Alluc found itself being blocked in a number of countries, including Australia, for copyright infringement.
With the wave of legal action against online streaming sites and Kodi addons by copyright holders over recent months, it seems quite plausible that the Alluc developers have either decided to pull the plug after receiving such legal threats themselves, or otherwise been warned that such a threat is imminent and decided to get out while the going is good.
What’s next for Alluc users?
If there is a glimmer of hope for Alluc users, it comes in two ways. Firstly, the Alluc search engine framework is not going to be mothballed. It will continue to live on in their sister site, pron.tv, which is a sizable porn search engine. And in their official announcement, the Alluc developers use the phrase “take a break” rather than shutting down. This does leave the door open for Alluc to reappear at some point in the future. Whether that will happen remains to be seen, but for now subscribers and ad-hoc users alike are now scrabbling around to try and find an alternative to Alluc. It will not be an easy task.
Alternative Kodi addons to Alluc
Stepping into Alluc’s sizeable shoes will be no easy task. With more than a billion unique users in the past decade, Alluc achieved levels of usage and public awareness that few other online streaming sites could even dream of. But, if an alternative to Alluc is going to be found anywhere, it is most likely within the realm of unofficial Kodi addons. The huge number of unofficial addons which allow users to access both authorized and unauthorized content has made it the go-to place for many online streamers.
No Kodi addon has hit the numbers that Alluc managed so far, and many have fallen victim to copyright lawsuits along the way too. But there are still a large number of unofficial Kodi addons out there and operations, which have the potential to provide a long-term alternative to Alluc. In this article, we are going to pick a few of our favourites. All of these addons would be classified as ‘all-in-one’ addons, which means they offer both live streams and on-demand content. Alluc was primarily an on-demand service, but in our experience, most users are looking for combined addon these days, which is why we have chosen to highlight the best all-in-ones around right now.
SkyNet
With all-in-one addons being targeted more than most in the recent assault on unofficial Kodi addons, it is a relief to see that SkyNet remains fully functional. This superb addon has been around a little while now and has proved a big hit with the Kodi community thanks to its massive range of content. It may not quite have the depth of Alluc yet, but SkyNet users can enjoy everything from live IPTV and sports streams to an extensive database of movies and almost all of the most popular TV shows. SkyNet also offers specialist content for kids as well as an excellent range of 4K and UltraHD movies. SkyNet is a very different beast to Alluc, but in terms of volume of content and usability, it is definitely a contender for the Alluc crown.
How to install the SkyNet Kodi addon
The SkyNet all-in-one addon can be downloaded from the Maverick TV Repository. The process to get Skynet up and running on your Kodi device is a straightforward one and shouldn’t take you more than a few minutes. To help you get going, here is our short installation guide:
- Open the Kodi home screen and click on the settings icon.

- Click on MaverickTV Repo > Video add-ons and click on the SkyNet link.
- Click Install, then wait for a moment, and you’ll see another notification that the add-on has been installed.
Gurzil
Gurzil has its origins in another hugely popular all-in-one Kodi addon, Exodus. Exodus has long since departed, but Gurzil has achieved the seemingly impossible in not only stepping into its shoed, but arguably even improving on what Exodus had to offer. We therefore see no reason why it couldn’t do the same for a behemoth like Alluc too. On Gurzil you will find a huge selection of movies, TV shows, kids content, sport, music, and much more too. The majority of links on Gurzil work well and most offer high quality and reliable streams. The addon itself is really easy to navigate and finding content is simple. It can also be customized to filter out content you don’t want, which is a really nice addition.
How to install Gurzil Kodi addon
Unusually in this day and age, you can find the Gurzil repository in a larger repositories rather than a dedicated small one. In this case, it is homed in the Kodil Repository. It is easy to download and install the Gurzil addon too. All you need to do is follow these simple instructions:
- Open the Kodi home screen and click on the settings icon.
- Select File Manager > Add source and click where it says <None>
- Type in the following URL exactly: https://kdil.co/repo/ – Give it a name such as Kodil and then click OK.
- Go back to your home screen and click on Addons > Addon Browser > Install from Zip File.
- Click on Kodil, then on kodil.zip. Wait for a moment, then you will see a notification appear in the top right of the screen once the source is installed.
- Go back to the Addon Browser menu and click on Install from repository
- Click on Kodil Repository > Video add-ons and click on the Gurzil link.
- Click Install, then wait for a moment, and you’ll see another notification that the add-on has been installed.
Rogue
Rogue is a very new addon, but one which has a huge amount of promise. It is not without a few teething problems, so Alluc users shouldn’t expect perfection immediately. But with a focus on on-demand content at this stage, they are likely to find much content to enjoy. There are lots of movies and TV shows to be found as well as music content. Kids TV, and even some live sport. Its content is expanding all the time and while it is certainly not as comprehensive as Alluc right now, there is still plenty to be found and the promise of much more to follow. It is another well designed and easy to use addon, with a single-click playback feature that we particularly loved.
How to install the Rogue Kodi addon
The Rogue addon can be found in the Gentec Repository and the process to download and install it is similar to many other Kodi addons. To make things nice and simple for you, easy is our step-by-step guide:
- Open the Kodi home screen and click on the settings icon.
- Select File Manager > Add source and click where it says <None>
- Type in the following URL exactly: https://gen-tec.co/gentecwiz – Give it a name such as Gentec and then click OK.
- Go back to your home screen and click on Addons > Addon Browser > Install from Zip File.
- Click on Gentec, then choose New repo for Gentec Wizard followed by on a file called repository.GenTec.x.x.zip. Wait for a moment, then you will see a notification appear in the top right of the screen once the source is installed.
- Go back to the Addon Browser menu and click on Install from repository
- Click on Gentec Repository > Video add-ons and click on the Rogue link.
- Click Install, then wait for a moment, and you’ll see another notification that the add-on has been installed.
FTFA
FTFA is a fairly new all-in-one Kodi addon which has really hit the ground running and already built up a significant user-base. It offers a wide array of American and British IPTV channels which you can stream live as well a big selection of on-demand content too. This includes a plentiful selection of movies, TV shows, and other content too. The addon itself is simple and easy-to-use and it is therefore no coincidence that it has proved a hit with the Kodi community.
How to install the FTFA Kodi addon
The FTFA addon is another which is still available through a bigger Kodi repository, in this case the Brettus Repository. It is again easy to download, although you will need to open up an external website to get a PIN number before being able to open it. Don’t worry though. Our simple step-by-step will help you do all that is necessary in a matter of moments:
- Open the Kodi home screen and click on the settings icon.
- Select File Manager > Add source and click where it says <None>
- Type in the following URL exactly: https://toptutorialsrepo.co.uk/kodi/Repos/ – Give it a name such as Top Tutorials and then click OK.
- Go back to your home screen and click on Addons > Addon Browser > Install from Zip File.
- Click on Top Tutorials, then on repository.Brettusrepo-x.x.x.zip. Wait for a moment, then you will see a notification appear in the top right of the screen once the source is installed.
- Go back to the Addon Browser menu and click on Install from repository

- Click on it and then click Install.

- Click on the blue Generate button to receive your PIN Number. Copy it and then paste it into the Kodi window.
- The FTFA addon will take a few seconds to validate this PIN Number after which the addon will open as usual.
Uncoded Aurora
Uncoded Aurora is a fork of the hugely popular Covenant all-in-one Kodi addon which made an all too brief appearance in the Kodi world last year. For a few months, Covenant swept all before it and was the dominant unofficial addon. But then, all too swiftly, it disappeared again. However Uncoded Aurora is a fork from Covenant and so brings with it many of the same features and a few improvements too. Uncoded Aurora sources content from a large number of sources. At this stage, it doesn’t have quite as many sources as Alluc, but for a Kodi addon the range is impressive and so, therefore is its content too, with a plentiful selection of Movies and TV shows available along with IPTV channels too.
How to install Uncoded Aurora Kodi addon
The Uncoded Aurora addon developers have chosen to follow the recent trend and make their addon available from their own smaller repository, known as Uncoded. But the process to download and install it remains as simple and straightforward as with a larger repository. Here is a short guide to help you get the Uncoded Aurora addon up and running:
- Open the Kodi home screen and click on the settings icon.
- Select File Manager > Add source and click where it says <None>
- Type in the following URL exactly: https://start.uncoded.life/ – Give it a name such as Uncoded and then click OK.
- Go back to your home screen and click on Addons > Addon Browser > Install from Zip File.
- Click on Uncoded, then on start.uncoded.zip. Wait for a moment, then you will see a notification appear in the top right of the screen once the source is installed.
- Go back to the Addon Browser menu and click on Install from repository
- Click on Uncoded Repository > Video add-ons and click on the Aurora link.
- Click Install, then wait for a moment, and you’ll see another notification that the add-on has been installed.
Elementum
Last but not least on this list of possible Kodi alternatives to Alluc is the Elementum addon. This is a fork of the hugely popular Quasar Kodi addon, which was a pioneering addon which sourced content from BitTorrent sites and enabled them to be streamed on Kodi rather than downloaded. Elementum follows this lead and scrapes links from numerous BitTorrent sites around the web. It offers users a resource to both search and identify the links you are interest in as well as tools to stream them. Like Alluc, you can find almost any movie and TV show you can think of and plenty more besides.
This addon is not as simple to install and get going as the others on this list, as it requires a bit of setting up before it can be used. But once that is done, Elementum is a real contender for fans of Alluc and it is well worth the effort.
How to install the Elementum Kodi addon
Elementum is not an addon which can be downloaded from a repository. Like a growing number of addon, this one needs to be downloaded directly from its own zip file instead. There are pros and cons to this. On the one side, it means that it is not likely to disappear as repositories go offline, which has been the case with some popular Kodi addons. On the other hand, it also means that it will not update automatically. This means users need to keep an eye out for updates themselves to ensure Elementum is as secure and functional as possible. The actual downloading process Elementum is even easier than using a repository, but as we have already noted, it is the setting up of this addon which is more complicated.

Conclusion
Alluc has been around for a long time and it is unrealistic to expect any Kodi addon to be able to match it for content and functionality at the moment. But there are a lot of very good all-in-one Kodi addons out there that have a decent chance of providing a long-term alternative to Alluc. In this article, we have highlighted a few of our favourites.
