How To Sync Google Calendar To Your iPhone Calendar App
The iOS Calendar app can find events and birthdays from Facebook. It can also add national holidays from most countries. The Calendar app also adds all events and invites you receive in your mail if you use the default Mail app. If you have other apps that can receive event invites, the Calendar app can automatically import them. The app can work with apps and almost all calendar services including Google Calendar. Even if you never add your Gmail account to your iPhone, you can still sync Google Calendar to your iPhone Calendar app. Here’s how.
To sync Google Calendar to your iPhone Calendar app, you need to first add your Google account to the app. You then have to select which calendars from Google Calendar you want to sync.
Add Google Account
Open the Settings app. Scroll down and tap the ‘Calendar’ app preference. On the Calendar screen, tap accounts. By default, it will show iCloud here but there are options to add more accounts inside.
On the ‘Add Accounts’ screen, tap Google and sign in to your Google account. You can add a Google account as well as a Google Business and Google Education account. You can also add multiple Google accounts.
Sync Google Calendar
After you sign into your Google account, you can choose what you want to sync. iOS supports sync for Mail, Contacts, Calendar, and Notes. By default, sync for everything except Notes is turned on. If you only want to sync Google Calendar to your iPhone Calendar app, turn off sync for Mail and Contacts.
Select Calendars To Sync
Wait a few minutes for the Calendar app to fetch all your calendars. Google Calendar itself can sync other calendars so there’s probably more than one. Your contacts might have shared a calendar with you, or you might have added a public calendar to your account.
After a few minutes, open the Calendar app. Tap ‘Calendars’ at the bottom-center of the screen. Your Google account, and all calendars in it,will be listed here. Unselect the calendars you don’t want to sync. Leave the ones you want to sync checked.
If you have quite a few calendars added to your Google account, it’s a good idea to clean it up first. Google Calendar, like the Calendar app in iOS can sync lots of other calendars. If it was your go-to calendar for a long time, chances are you have quite a few calendars synced to it.
If you use Google Calendar to keep track of events, you can add them to Google Maps too.
And the other way around? If you want to see your apple calendar events in your google calendar?
