There’s a small condition for this automatic connectivity to work. You need to connect these devices to the same iCloud profile.

Consider that you’ve already connected your AirPods to an iPhone. And, previously the Apple Watch and iPhone were also in sync. Also, you’re using the same iCloud profile for all the devices. Then, chances are the AirPods are already connected with the Apple Watch. Simply do the following to transfer the music to AirPods:

  • Open the Apple Watch Control Panel.
  • You can swipe up the Apple Watch screen from the bottom to access the Control Panel.
  • Scroll down to locate the AirPlay icon.
  • Once located, tap on the AirPlay icon.
  • Below the Choose where to play audio, there will be a list of compatible devices.
  • If you see your AirPods, tap on that to transfer audio to AirPods.

  • Tap the Digital Crown of your Apple Watch.
  • Then select the cogwheel icon from the screen to open the Settings app.
  • Scroll down until your find the Bluetooth menu.
  • Tap on the Bluetooth menu to access it.
  • The Apple Watch’s Bluetooth will start searching for new devices.

How to Connect AirPods to Apple Watch

Now, you need to put the AirPods in pairing mode. Here’s how you can do that:

  • Put both the AirPod inside the charging case and close the lid.
  • Now, bring the charging case near the Apple Watch and open the lid.
  • Then, long press the pairing button on the back of the charging case.
  • When you see a white light flashing, release the pairing button.
  • You should now see the AirPods as a paired device.
