AirTag Found Moving With You: Everything You Need to Know

Apple AirTag is a magical gadget that enables you to track your belongings like luggage, keys, wallet, backpack, purse, bicycle, and so on.

However, someone can also use this gadget to track you or your belongings without your knowledge. Apple employs several techniques to guard your privacy when you use AirTags on the Find My network.

As a part of preventive measure, your iPad or iPhone may sometime show the following notification: AirTag Found Moving With You. Continue reading to learn what to do in such scenarios.

AirTag Found Moving With You Everything You Need to Know

What Is the AirTag Found Moving With You Notification?

Apple considers no threat of spying on you when an AirTag is nearby to its registered iPhone or iPad. However, when the AirTag goes beyond the range of connected iOS devices, several security measures get activated. For example, the AirTag itself plays a sound when it’s away from its registered device for some time.

Similarly, if someone drops an AirTag in your backpack to track you illegally, your iPhone or iPad will detect this and show you a warning on the lock screen or on the top of the device screen.

The same thing will happen if you’ve borrowed a friend’s backpack where the owner has left an AirTag for tracking. The warning usually reads: “AirTag Found Moving With You. The location of this AirTag can be seen by the owner.”

It’s simply an automated warning sent to you by the Find My network’s security system to inform you that you may have become a subject of unauthorized tracking.

It’s not illegal tracking if you know who owns the AirTag. Then you can disable the tracking system to keep your location or travel path private.

Once you return your friend’s belongings, like their backpack, you can inform them that you’ve found the AirTag and have deactivated it for a while. Your friend can easily activate the AirTag later.
