Free Nokia Mobile Antivirus Software Symbian ESET Mobile

As more and more smartphones are becoming increasingly intelligent, they are now used not just for calling and texting but also for communicating in several different ways, socializing, shopping, banking, and more. While this has its benefits, it also comes with its risks. Since smartphones are more like computers than mere phones, they are prone to a problems all computers face – viruses! For effectively combating this problem, we need an effective antivirus solution. ESET has just released its free Nokia Mobile Antivirus software for Nokia phones running Symbian S60 operating system. Since most smartphones are connected to the internet at most times now due to high and widespread availability of GPRS, EDGE and other mobile internet packages, there is high chance that they can be infected by a virus, either due to a vulnerability found in the phone’s operating system itself, or due to the user mistakenly downloading the virus and getting infected through a file received in email, a link received in messages or a malicious website visited in the browser. Once infected, your login credentials, bank details, etc can be stolen easily and the virus may start spreading itself to other devices you connect to or communicate with via Bluetooth, email or even texting.

It takes only 1MB of your mobile system memory. Note that this is only the initial beta release (not final product) and may have its quirks. In our testing though, it has proven to be glitch-free, but keep in mind that your mileage may vary. Nevertheless, it is a better to have even a beta version of an Antivirus software installed on your phone, than having no Antivirus at all.
