Ubisoft has not officially released any information, announcement, or teaser concerning AC Rift. However, statements from top guns in the French gaming company may inspire belief.
Speaking with Bloomberg, a spokeswoman for Ubisoft said that the company had a “solid and exciting lineup of titles” featuring “both established brands with new story twists and features, and brand new IPs that will continue to change the landscape of today’s video games.”
Similarly, AC Valhalla’s producer, José Araiza, recently told Eurogamer in an interview that “fans definitely will see more of Basim” in new releases.
Even Yves Guillemot, CEO of Ubisoft, was cagey with questions concerning AC Rift rumors. At a financial earring in February, Guillemot said the company “won’t comment further on the rumor.” However, he reassured the fans that Ubisoft has “a very strong roadmap on the AC franchise for years to come, with very meaningful content coming every year.”
Following Guillemot’s assertion that an AC franchise will release every year, we can expect AC Rift this year since AC Infinity is scheduled for 2023.

Since 2007, when the first title was released, the French video gaming company has released a new title annually. Recent challenges with employee turnover and criticism over quality have led Ubisoft to take a step back in favor of high-quality action-packed production.
Ubi’s recent production struggle saw Skull & Bones delayed several times due to directional challenges. A Prince of Persia remake was postponed indefinitely. Lastly, Beyond Good & Evil, the puzzle-solving stealth-based adventure, remains in production after five years of development.
AC Rift is an attempt to fill Ubisoft’s thin production lineup, experts believe. Similar to smaller productions like 2020’s Immortals Fenyx Rising and Rainbow Six Extraction.
