How to Share PS5 Game Capture

Taking clips of unforgettable moments of your gameplay has been made possible through the SONY PS Series. However, a new feature that distinguishes PS5 from the previous PS Series is the ability to send screenshots of your stunts and gameplay clips to your mobile device easily. While other PlayStation Series lack this, SONY released a new feature with PS5 which allows it to automatically send your captured media to your device using the PlayStation App.

This feature is now almost global as PlayStation has been taking its time to release the feature to certain regions. So far, regions that have been covered include the USA, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, El Salvador, Uruguay, Japan, Mexico, and Guatemala. If your country isn’t part of the list, don’t fret. Sony is set to extend access to more countries soon. So whether your region can currently access the PS5 game capture feature or it’s not available in your region yet, it is a must-learn feature for gamers.

This article contains a detailed explanation of the game capture feature, the type of media it can send to the PlayStation App, and how you can set your console to do this.

But first, let’s discuss Game Capture.

What Are Game Captures?

Game captures are the screenshots and clips of your gameplay taken with the “Create” button on your controller. They are the pictures and footage your console quickly takes and stores in its memory. The auto-upload feature recently released will take these captures from the console memories and upload them to the PlayStation App. The App only gives you 14 days of access to transfer these captures to your device and friends.

How to set Auto-upload Feature

If the Auto-upload feature is already available in your region, then you will need to enable it before it can work. After enabling the Auto-upload feature on your console, you must enable your PS App to accept captures.

  • The first step is to turn on the “Stay Connected to the Internet” settings and link your PS5 to your PS App.
  • Open your PS App, go to your game library, Click “Captures,” then click “Enable.”

By that, you have enabled your PS App to store captures.

  • In PS5 Menu, Click Settings. Select auto-upload under Captures and Broadcast. Then, enable the capture option.

By doing so, you have enabled your PS5 to take captures. Once the Auto-upload is enabled and you are taking captures, you will be able to access, share and download the captures through the menu.
