How to Change Arrows in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

The cultural and historical richness of AC Valhalla’s Norse mythology would make anyone bounce off the walls and gear up for the foes awaiting in the villages, fortresses, and mountainous terrains. Speaking of the apt types of gear to carry in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, arrows come off as a fans’ favorite, and, happily, I love sending enemies to their death with this weaponry.

If you’re still progressing through the missions in the game, you might have noticed that it’s unclear which way to change arrows. This is because, unlike previous installments of the franchise such as AC Odyssey, arrows are an integral part of a bow in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and can’t be acquired separately. Therefore, you need a new bow to get a fresh feel with your arrows.

I, for one, like to play like a pro. So you might also want to assume that position by understanding the mechanics behind each type of arrow in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and how to change to the right one for different kinds of enemies.assassin's-creed-valhalla-how-to-change-arrows

Types of Arrows You Can Change to in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

The game mechanics in Assassin’s Creed is designed to make players fight enemies calculatedly rather than in a scattershot ‘hack n slash’ manner. If this is anything to go by, it’s a true reward for OG fans of the franchise.

It’s safe to say I was already getting accustomed to the RPG style the game has taken on since AC Origins, but anything to slow the combat pace down a bit is welcomed.

With Arrows, I can take on myriads of enemies in one fell swoop, thanks to the arrows that allow me to do that from a safe position out of enemies’ sight. With this, I expose myself less with optimal stealth movement, reducing the efforts wasted on fighting the same set of enemies.

Be that as it may, there isn’t any different arrow to change to as the game developers, Ubisoft Montreal, laid more emphasis on the in-game bows. You’ll only feel the difference in arrows when you change into one of the three bows available in the game: Hunter bow, Light now, and Predator bow.

The hunter bow, which you get when you first start using arrows in the game, is mediocre by all standards. And, as the name suggests, it’s more suitable for hunting animals in the boondocks. You can only deal light damage with it.

The Light Bow, which is my favorite, is fast as lightning and can deal some real heavy damages, with the only catch being that it’s only effective against enemies at close range.

Lastly, the predator bow is like a sniper rifle from the modern world. With it, you can fire from insane distances, with each shot-killing an enemy at a go, especially when aimed at the head region.

How to Get a New Bow/Arrows in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

To purchase one of the bows mentioned above, head into an in-game trader’s store and get any of the bows in exchange for Silver. After this, you can go to your inventory at any time to change into your newly acquired bow.

Final Note

The key to scaling through combat in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is knowing when and how to use the right gear. Having different bows that you can change to in your inventory amid combat will help in that regard.
