Elden Ring Multiplayer: Everything You Need to Know
Elden Ring is an open-world action role-playing game (RPG) directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki and produced by the iconic fantasy scribe of the New York Times best-selling writer George R. R. Martin. Developed by the FromSoftware company, the game creates a massive open world that is integrated with different gameplay experiences. Different players can play for the same period of time and end up with a different storyline- meaning different players can have a different storyline in the same game. This is possible due to its massive open-world capable of occupying many players with different stories to play.
Elden Ring was launched on February 25th, 2022 and is available on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series. With the number of players on it, it is the biggest game.
The most interesting part of the game is the multiplayer section of the game. It is the part that sends the thrills down the players’ spine. About the Elden Ring multiplayer
There are two multiplayer game modes in the Elden Ring game:
Players Vs Enemies (PvE): is a co-op gaming experience where you can team up with your friends to play and help you conquer a powerful enemy.
Players Vs Players (PvP): is an online gaming mode where you can battle off with your friends.
Note: Elden Ring doesn’t have any offline multiplayer game mode.
How to play Elden Ring multiplayer?
- Complete the game tutorial: the game tutorial will fill you in on the game’s storyline and the controls.
- Get online and connect to the game’s server
- Go to the in-game menu and select multiplayer
- Pick from the range of options provided in the multiplayer mode to get started
Although there is a wide range of options in the multiplayer mode, you will still need specific items to unlock certain modes.
Elden Ring Co-op (PvE)
Elden Ring Co-op lets you summon up to 4 players into your game using the summoning signs. A common item for summoning is Furlcallinh Finger Remedy. When you use this item, you will see the summoning signs on the floor. The summoning signs represent the online payers that wish to join your game.
However, if you need to enter someone else’s game, you will use the Tarnished Furled Finger item. When you select this item in your multiplayer menu, your summoning sign will be placed on the floor, and a player who uses a Furlcalling Finger Remedy in their own game and wishes to summon you should see that you’re ready to join their game.
If you also wish to summon your friend for a boss battle, you will find a statue near the battle arena, and when you turn it on, it will display that the summoning pool is open for business. By this, you should see any of the summoning signs used in that area recently.
To avoid being sucked inside a stranger’s game, you can protect your game by setting a password. Please note that you can be summoned by your friends and not a stranger.

- Enter any word and make sure your friends enter the same password
You and your friends will be able to see each other’s summoning signs instead of anyone else’s.
Elden Ring (PvP)
The PvP allows you to duel your fellow players, friends or strangers to take their runes. There are two ways with two different items to do this.
The Duelist’s Furled Finger item: this item leaves a red sign which signifies a duel challenge on the floor that other players can see. Any player that sees the sign can take up the challenge and fight you to death.
The Bloody Finger: allows you to invade any player’s game unannounced. You head into their game unannounced to try and kill the players.

Elden Ring still hasn’t developed into a game that can be played across platforms. If you are a PlayStation player, you won’t be able to connect with Xbox or PC players and vice versa.
