Best Prompt for Marketing Products
For this prompt, we used:
Write an email marketing campaign using the ‘Picture-Promise-Prove-Push’ framework.
This framework grabs the customer’s attention, paints a beautiful picture of your product, backs up your claims, and encourages the reader to take action and make a purchase. The AI has chosen to use bags for this campaign, but you can insert your own product.
Notice how the AI breaks down what each section is (the picture, the promise, and the proof). When using this template, make sure you remove the instances of “Picture:”, “Promise:”, “Prove:”, and “Push:”. Those are only used to demonstrate where those sections are but your clients don’t need to see them.
Best Prompt for Product and/or Service Showcases
Through this framework, you can showcase your product or service’s exact features along with advantages. To sell any product/service you want to generate the human language model. Yes, you’re using an AI but you still need to sound like you’re a real person who lives and breathes.
For this prompt we used:
Using the Features-Advantages-Benefits’ framework, please write an email marketing campaign that highlights the [features] of our [product/service] and explains the [advantages] and elaborates on the [benefits].
We did not specify a product or service but you can add your own when you use this email template. Here, the AI mentions the customer’s value right off the bat. This is important for customer retention. It’s like a virtual hug that says, “We got you. Your needs are covered with our product”. You can use this template like a game of MadLibs and replace what’s in parentheses with your product and/or service’s offering. Remember MadLibs? Ah to be a kid again!
Best Prompt for Consumer Problems
For this example, we decided to present a problem that Netflix users face around the world: content not being available where they live.
We used the following prompt:
Write an email marketing campaign using the ‘PASTOR’ framework to address the pain points of [ideal customer persona] and present our [VPN] as the solution. Identify the [Netflix unavailable in their country] they are facing, amplify the consequences of not solving it, tell a [story] related to the problem, include [testimonials] from happy customers, present our [offer], and ask for a response.
The PASTOR framework stands for:
- Problem – the issue your client is facing
- Amplify – point out why the issue is bad and that you see acknowledge it
- Solution – offer to solve the problem
- Transformation – demonstrate how you’re qualified to solve the issue and how you’ve helped others with the same issue
- Offer – describe your product/service, specifically how they can solve the issue
- Response – give your customer the next steps and what they can do
You don’t have to use the Netflix VPN issue, you can use this template and replace the streaming service with your own needs. We stopped ChatGPT after the fourth paragraph but it will lay out the entire PASTOR framework addressing your customer’s issue.
Best Prompt for Urgency
Seasonal allergies affect most of us. The writer of this piece is currently experiencing seasonal allergies herself and thought it would be a good idea to try the following prompt:
Write an email marketing campaign using the ‘Urgency-Patience’ framework to encourage [millennials] to take action. Create a sense of urgency to encourage the reader to act now, but also remind them that using our [allergy pills] will bring long-term benefits that are worth waiting for. Include talking points such as [seasonal allergies], [sinus congestion], and [remedies].
This prompt relies on the Urgency-Patience framework to show how the product (allergy pills) is a must-have to reduce symptoms like sinus congestion and sneezing. You can use this template and replace allergy pills with your product/service and target audience. However, we suggest removing some of the repetitive language like, “that’s why we’re” and “that’s why we”.
Best Prompt for Telling Your Product’s Story
Every product has a story and if you want to sell your item, that story needs to be compelling. We used the Star-Story-Solution framework to promote Amazon review checkers. This framework allows you to show potential customers why your product offers a solution to their problems. If you replace Amazon checkers with your product and the problem it solves, you’ll be able to create a compelling email. Yes, we are aware of the irony of using ChatGPT to help readers understand that some Amazon reviews are written by a bot. Cue the Alanis Morissette. Dated reference alert!
Here’s the prompt:
Using the ‘Star-Story-Solution’ framework, please write an email marketing campaign that introduces the main character of a [someone looking to buy a product but is unsure if the reviews are written by a bot] related to our [Amazon review checkers] and keeps the reader hooked. End the story with an explanation of how the star wins in the end with the help of our product.
Best Prompt for Your Ideal Customer Persona
We used the Four C’s framework for this prompt. These are four important factors of good writing.
- Clear: A clearly defined message gives readers an unambiguous introduction to your product and how it works.
- Concise: A concise message gets to the point fast. You don’t want readers to abandon the email halfway through because it took five paragraphs to show what your product does.
- Compelling: Why does your product tell a fascinating story? Through compelling text, explain why the product lets the reader get on with their lives easily. In this case, the parents of toddlers will be able to alleviate their youngster’s teething pain and allow the entire family to rest easy. A teething toddler is an unhappy toddler and when a child can’t sleep, the entire family won’t be able to sleep either.
- Credible: Credibility is key when it comes to marketing any product. You need to show readers that experts (in this case pediatricians) and users (parents) are fond of the product and recommend it.
The prompt:
Write an email marketing campaign using the ‘Four C’s’ framework to create clear, concise, compelling, and credible copy for [parents of toddlers]. Use this checklist to ensure that our message is effectively communicated and persuades the reader to take action. Include talking points such as [helps with teething] and [buy the product to give your toddler relief from the pain of teething].
When using this prompt, don’t forget to replace our example with your product and remove the part that indicates which sections demonstrate the 4 C’s.
Best Prompt for Conversions
Sales drive more sales. If you’re looking to make conversions (a fancy way to say “sales”) try the Consistent-Contrasting framework. A framework like this one allows you to present a unique selling point and an offer to future customers. By presenting a specialized offering (discount, sign-up bonus, or free sample) you can entice readers to buy your product or use your service. We did not choose a specific product for this one.
The prompt is as follows:
Please write an email marketing campaign using the ‘Consistent-Contrasting’ framework to convert leads into customers. Use a consistent message or theme throughout the copy, but incorporate contrasting language or images to draw the reader’s attention and keep them engaged. Include talking points such as [product/service], [unique selling point], and [desired action].
Best Prompt for Social Responsibility Campaigns
In this day and age, it’s important for companies to support their customers whether it’s through allyship or sustainable offerings. For this prompt, we made up a company that sells recyclable gasoline. This does not exist but it would be great for someone to invent it. Hi scientists, would you do us all a favor and get on it? Thanks.
Using the Solution-Savings-Social Proof framework, you have the opportunity to present an issue, show how you solved it, the savings the customer can benefit from, and testimonials to let readers know that others have tried your product and love it.
Here’s what we used:
Write an email marketing campaign using the ‘Solution-Savings-Social Proof’ framework to persuade [SUV owners] to take action. Clearly state the problem our [recyclable gasoline] solves, emphasize the time, money, or other resources that the customer can save by using our product, and use customer testimonials or social proof to demonstrate the effectiveness of our solution. Include variables such as [recyclable gas is environmentally friendly], [it won’t cost you hundreds of dollars each month to fill up your SUV], and [buy our recyclable gasoline].
When using this prompt for your email campaign, remember to remove the instances where the framework is mentioned specifically. For example, get rid of “Solution:”, “Savings:” and “Social Proof:” The customer doesn’t need to see how the sausage gets made. They only need to see the problem, solution, and money-saving opportunities.
Bonus: Please Write an Email to Mom
Sometimes life gets in the way of communication. If you haven’t emailed your mom in a while, here’s ChatGPT’s version of an “I miss you but I’m busy” email.
For this we used:
Please write an email to my mom explaining why I haven’t called her in a while because I’ve been busy with work
The generated text is quite formal but it will get you out of a jam and reiterate that you still love your mother. She gave you life, the least you can do is send her an email, even if you didn’t write it yourself.
